The Floating Tour is the half-day option for travelers who want to be in the rainforest, not just look at it. The first hour is uphill through primary forest to a hidden waterfall — slippery in the rainy season, so closed lightweight shoes are not optional. After a swim and a snack, the rest is downstream in a life vest, drifting slowly past monkeys, basilisks, and tropical birds with nothing to do but watch.
A good pick if you have done one of the Corcovado tours and want something gentler the next day, or if you only have one half-day on the Osa.
What to bring
Tennis shoes or closed lightweight shoes, shorts, t-shirt, and a waterproof camera if you want to capture the river leg.
