DRAFT — body needs Carlos’s review.

If you are staying more than two nights in Drake Bay, do not skip this. The forest at night is not the same forest you walked through during the day — different animals, different sounds, different sense of scale. It is also the only practical way to see most of the frogs and large insects that bring people to Costa Rica in the first place.

A good guide makes the night walk; an inexperienced one will miss most of what is in front of you. The operators DBIC partners with run their night walks with resident naturalists who know the local terrain.

What to bring

Socks (the operator provides rubber boots), a camera, water, mosquito repellent, a flashlight, and long pants.
