DRAFT — body needs Carlos’s review.
Humpbacks migrate to these waters from both hemispheres — the southern population passes through July–November, the northern population January–March — which gives the Osa one of the longest humpback windows anywhere in the world. Outside whale season the boat still goes out for dolphins, which are reliable year-round in pods of dozens, sometimes hundreds.
Marine-biologist-led tours are not the norm in Costa Rica; here they are. The hydrophone earns its keep — both for whale song in season and for dolphin chatter the rest of the year.
