A first-time visit to the Osa is really two trips: the reef (Caño Island) and the rainforest (Corcovado / Sirena). Most travelers do one and leave wishing they had done both. This combo bundles them into a back-to-back two-day itinerary, with a discount versus booking each tour separately.
Day 1 is the easier day — a half-day boat trip out to the reef, two snorkel sessions, lunch on the island, and back to Drake Bay by mid-afternoon. Use the rest of the day to rest in town.
Day 2 is the long day — boat to Sirena Ranger Station, guided rainforest hike, lunch at the station, and the return boat by early afternoon. Plan a low-key evening; you will be tired in the best way.
What to bring
A combination of what each tour calls for: sandals + waterproof gear for Day 1, hiking shoes + sun/insect protection + passport for Day 2. See each tour’s page for the full list.
Note
Lodging in Drake Bay between Day 1 and Day 2 is booked separately — see the hotels page for the operator’s cabins and recommended stays.
